In case you have not heard, there is some big news brewing at Gene McCarthy’s. Some of it is good news and some of it is bad news. The good news is that a team of craft-beer and local-food lovers have taken over McCarthy’s and that we are continuing the fine Monday tradition of Better Beverage Society! The bad news, Gerhardt will no longer be gracing the Better Beverage stage, though given his love of friends, food, and beer we expect to see him in the audience on a regular basis. Gerhardt will definitely attend tomorrow for a brief if not teary swan song. As well, the new owners, Dave Bittner, Willard Brooks, Matt Conron, and Bill Metzger will be on hand to introduce ourselves and to raise our glasses to Gerhardt! Be sure not to miss it!
For this coming Monday March 5 (tomorrow) from the hours of 6:00-9:00PM, representatives from one of America’s largest and most prolific craft breweries, Boston Beer Company (aka Sam Adams), will take the stage at Gene McCarthy’s to talk about and serve several of their special brews in bottles as well as their Boston Lager and Spring Ale on tap. For this month, in honor of St Patrick’s Day we are really going green and putting out an Irish-inspired repast consisting of corned beef sandwiches, cabbage, carrots, salt potatoes and our very own cottage pie! As always, $25 gets you free beer on tap from 6-9PM with dinner included!
